Snowdonia & Anglesey

An amazing opportunity to take in the delights of both Anglesey and Snowdonia and spend a week honing your photography skills in a small group setting.
Additionally, for those of you that have done one of these 'autumn special' weeks with me before, we will be aiming to take in locations we haven't seen on previous photography holidays as well as getting 'off the beaten track' creatively by exploring a range of photograhic impressionist techniques.

You will be staying in the gorgeous - and grade II listed - Bulkeley Hotel, which is right on the seafront in Beaumaris
You will be well looked after throughout with all you can eat cooked breakfasts and three course evening meals, all included in the price.

As we have a week we will have the opportunity to be flexible and visit each location in the best weather and light.
We really do have it all in these locations - coast, mountains, lakes, rivers and waterfalls - you name it we will have the chance to photograph it!
Of course this time of year also brings us glorious autumn colour and dramatic high tides.
We will pay special attention to the northern half of Anglesey, taking in sights such as Ynys y Fydlyn, Cemlyn, Porth y Post, Porth Dafarch and Carmel Head. In Snowdonia we will go wherever the weather indicates will be best, but will certainly be aiming to get up to Llyn Llydaw the beautiful lake with near views to Snowdon, the old abandoned slate quarry at Cwmorthin, and the Aberglaslyn gorge.

The benefits of a small group and an extended time period mean that this holiday is suitable for both beginner and intermediate photographers.
Beginners will be able to learn how to really get to grips with their cameras, 'get off auto' and learn basic techniques.
Intermediate photographers will be able to explore topics such as neutral density filters, slow exposures, mulitple exposures, intentional camera movement, photographic impressionism, how to find the best locations and visit them at the most appropriate times and most importantly how to really develop your own personal creativity and style. Cheryl is also very open to any requests for tuition on particular topics - please contact by e mail to discuss.

There will also be ample opportunity to learn about a range of photo editing techniques in photoshop and lightroom and also about the (free!) Nik Collection software.

You arrive on Nov 10th and that is simply your day to travel, get settled in to your accomodation and have time to recover from your journey. We commence with tution on Nov 11th - and will meet at 10 a.m for coffee and a chat before we head off to start taking photos.
Additionally our last full day (Nov 16th) will be divided into morning and afternoon sessions. The morning will be time for you to select your best photo's and process them - with Cheryl on hand to help so that you can get the very best from them. The afternoon will then be a group digital image projection session with a little bit of mutual critique. The emphasis here though, will be on fun not on outdoing each other! We will finish off the course with a meal and a few drinks together before you wend your way home the following day. There will also be a day off in the middle of the week (Monday) so that you can catch your breath and rest - or have some time to take photographs on your own if you would prefer.

Take your photography to the next level in the inspirational landscape of North Wales.

Professional photographer Cheryl Hamer will provide you with expert tuition in small groups, both on location and in post processing techniques, enhancing not only your skill level, but also your confidence and creativity.

Take great photos in a relaxed, approachable atmosphere and have FUN at the same time!
